Welcome to Woodstock and our family oasis! Located on a private road, at the base of Overlook Mountain, on more than 5 secluded, wooded, acres. Conveniently situated less than five miles from the artsy and fun Town of Woodstock, five miles in the other direction, is the great Village of Saugerties, and 20 minutes from Kingston (the original capitol of New York) - near all restaurants, bars, hiking/trails, swimming, horseback riding, skiing/tubing, etc.
Pulling up our blacktop driveway (perfect for bikes, scooters and skateboards), is our classic, but fully modernized, log home - surrounded by trees and plenty of yard to play & relax in. Nature is quite literally at your doorstep. (*We treat naturally/organically for ticks and mosquitos, so while there is never a guarantee, we do our best to keep them at bay.)
The private heated, saltwater pool, huge deck and screened-in porch allow you to enjoy our warm months to their fullest. Surrounded by a brand new patio, hot tub, stone fire pit and stunning gardens, there is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the outdoors.
Our home is newly renovated (2016), with a modern yet welcoming interior and an open floor plan. The bedrooms are ideally situated for families with kids and grandparents. The two guest/kid bedrooms close off from the main room & primary bedroom via pocket doors, perfect for late night game nights or movies, while the kids sleep.
Beautiful, brand new & fully outfitted eat-in kitchen (with a huge peninsula for eating and cooking) opens to a large great room, featuring soaring ceilings and beams, enormous window wall, a large wood burning fireplace with beautiful ceramic tile and dining table.
From the dining/kitchen, the patio doors open to a large deck and the private and secluded heated & saltwater swimming pool. Plenty of Adirondack chairs and loungers, a large umbrella & beautiful built in stone fire pit compliment the gorgeous gardens surrounding the pool. We can't forget the children's playground, trampoline and climbing dome, perfect for your kids. The hot tub is open year round and offers a quiet and serene place to soak and take in nature - no matter the weather!
From the deck, you can access the screened in porch, perfect for summer lunches and evening cocktails. There are dining tables and chairs on both the deck and in the screened porch.
A large primary bedroom, with picture windows, features a king sized bed (Tempur-Pedic mattress) and a big primary bathroom, with heated floors, and a walk-in shower with a bench. On this side of the house, you'll find the playroom, complete with toys, books, a TV and arts and crafts table as well as board/card games & puzzles (for adults and kids.)
On the opposite side of the house, you'll find a new hall bathroom, also with heated floors, and a large bathtub/shower. The first guest/kids room has a double sized bed with a Tempur-Pedic mattress. Across the hall is second guest/kids room, featuring a twin bed (two, nice, twin blow up air mattresses are available for extra children.)
Ideal for families - the floor plan is conducive to running around in the cold winter months, and open to backyard and summer living in the warmer. A full sized washer and dryer - as well as a fully outfitted (spices and seasonings as well) kitchen - make showing up with the bare minimum clothes and immediately being right at home more than feasible. A travel crib is available upon request.
Close to HITS, Hunter/Belleayre/Windham Mountains and all other Catskill and Hudson Valley activities, our house is a perfectly situated home base for whatever you're looking for (or, of course, doing nothing except relaxing!) The garage (and its side entrance) is perfect to keep your wet skis or your muddy boots dry and warm.
We have an extensive personal recommendation lists for restaurants, bars, places to visit and hike and more kid friendly activities. We have family living nearby, as well as a handyman and cleaning person on-call. Please note that for stays longer than two weeks, we do require a cleaning every two weeks.
Maximum number of adults permitted is 4 - two to three children are acceptable (some exceptions permitted based on age.) We don't rent to anyone under 27 - but the house is also ideal for couples without children looking to get away for a romantic and quiet week. No parties, except for yourselves! There are two security cameras on the property - at the front door/door bell and facing out into the driveway, in front of the garage.
Please note that a 4% Ulster Cty Tax is added to the fees.
