Summary: What a great fishing community! We stayed in one of 8 houses right across from the private pier with plenty of places to fish and crab. This was a first for us, as we usually stay right in Gulf Shores, but we wanted a little more quiet and peaceful setting. The house had everything that we needed. The master bedroom was huge and the bed super comfortable (and we are picky about our mattresses). The provided beach towels and beach bag came in handy. There was lots of storage space. This house was at the end of the row and had a picnic table and fire-pit that we enjoyed.Our favorite part was casting the crab pots (traps) from the pier into the river, and in 2 days we had enough blue crabs to have a feast. We just added spices (Old Bay) & vinegar and steamed them in the 3 provided crab pots. They were delicious! The Tin Top Restaurant was close and fantastic. The people at Aquila's bait shop, just down the road, were so nice and helpful. We highly recommend this as a low-key, quiet stay on the river.
